LA carriera di Allardyce da allenatore è iniziata nel 1991 sulla panchina del Limerick, da li in poi sono state tantissime le squadre di Premier allenate: Bolton, Newcastle, Blackburn, West Ham, Sunderland, Crystal Palace ed ora Everton. Tra tutti questi club la panchina più prestigiosa è stata sicuramente quella della nazionale, che Big Sam si è fatto sfuggire a causa di uno scandalo.
